Guy Ritchie action in book form

By Amazon Customer on September 29, 2018

Format: Kindle Edition

This book had me laughing out loud. To get the full flavor, start with the first book, Burn. You will be introduced to an improbably connected group of Canadians, engaged in absurdist adventures, with a touch of crime fighting thrown in. A great bit of entertainment.

Great & Pulpy, worth your time.

By Amazon Customer on February 14, 2017

Format: Kindle Edition

This is a fantastic read. Equal parts pulp, comedy, lewd humour and visceral crime, "Burn" never fails to entertain and shock. Author Slatter weaves together a unique crime story that exists beyond the genre's classic tropes. Not a particular difficult read, but very surely a worthwhile one. Plunk down with a stiff drink and enjoy the the wild world of "Burn".

Absolutely great read. Loved the book from page one on and couldn't put it down. Many twists and turns will keep you on your toes every time you turn a page and best of all.... It's hilariously funny. Read it!!! Unlike some of the characters, you have nothing to loose!

best book forever

I'm really digging the quirkiness of this novel. Slatter has devised an unusual cast of contrasting characters to inhabit the dangerous world of this story. And the way that their subplots intertwine and intersect makes it a hilarious yet thrilling read the whole way through.

One thing I understood very early on - what seems is not what is. There is enough intrigue to keep me turning the page, but some of the non-typical characterizations make it even more amusing. I recommend it. It's a fun yet easy read.

Loved it!!!!!!!!

By Ary Liu on December 21, 2017

This novel was as pleasant a surprise as the first. As funny, and maybe even more thrilling, but in completely different ways. Most of my favorite (no spoiler) of these unusual suspects are back with a vengeance, and all the new quirky and menancing characters make it just as entertaining as the first, but in a completely different way.

Some of the descriptions and situations left me laughing out loud. And then I would go back and find even more to laugh about layered in. Slatter somehow manages to be in your face and dry at the same time. Another easy but highly entertaining read. I’ll definitely keep reading.

Russian criminals can be more sadistic than many, even when in the U.S. They are sometimes smarter than the police. This is a case that you don't see coming..

This gem of a book is obscenely HILARIOUS!

This gem of a book is obscenely HILARIOUS! I love how Mr. Slatter gives us a delicious cast of unique characters, with their subplots beautifully crossing paths, making it a satisfying read. Underneath all this, it is an original Vancouver detective story with a heavy dose of nail-biting suspense that will have you riveted! I give it two thumbs up!
